ABOUT BLACKMAN
With 14 years under her belt as a junior derby athlete then with Denver Roller Derby, and as Captain of Angel City Derby, Blackman's built a legacy defined by elite play, sharp skills, and next-level derby IQ.
As a member of USA Roller Derby and countless other teams exhibiting top-level gameplay, Blackman’s impact goes far beyond the track. Starting in junior derby and evolving into one of the sport’s most respected leaders, she’s never stopped putting in the work for her own growth and that of every league that’s lucky enough to have her.
Constantly training, constantly refining, and just as committed to others as she is to herself, Blackman has been coaching across JRDA, WFTDA, and MRDA since 2014, developing both junior and adult skaters and shaping the future of the sport.
BLACKMAN'S FAVORITE
187 Pro Derby Knee Pads (M) - For a long time, I struggled to find knee pads that wouldn’t slide down as soon as I fell down. Pro Derby Knee pads stay in place with me no matter how often (and it is often) I fall and slide on my knees. My gameplay requires me to get very low while remaining agile and these pads do not restrict my movement or create any discomfort when doing so.
187 Slim Elbow Pad, Black (M) - The 187 Slim Elbow Pads are my first choice by a mile. Other elbow pads often sacrifice comfort for protection, or protection for slimness, not these. The 187 Slim Elbow Pads hit all three: protection, comfort, and aesthetic. If you know me, you know I am a vain skater and as a vain skater, I love the way these elbow pads look.
Derby Wrist Guard, Black (M) - The Derby Wrist Guards are a classic for a reason, full coverage with a sleek design. Since making these wrist guards my go-tos, I stopped getting random small bruises on the inside of my hands because these are true full-coverage wrist guards. I love that these wrist guards are a snug fit but not immobilizing, they still provide me with plenty of flexibility to move with my wrist as required.
